Jillian Tremonti Engelhardt, Studio Director

Native to metro-Detroit, Jillian Tremonti Engelhardt has been dancing since the age of 2 and hasn’t stopped since. Jill began her education at a private studio near her hometown, and took those studies all the way to the Big 10, graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s in English and minor in Dance. Jill has been a dance educator since 2003 who prides herself on curating a safe space for artists both young and young-at-heart to explore self-expression and develop skills necessary to grow into successful individuals and dancers. She was recently awarded the Marjorie Perry Spirit award, which recognizes dance educators that demonstrate an extraordinary level of love and devotion for dance education.

 Josh and Stacy Burzynski are bringing a strong gymnastics and tumbling program to ADC. Originally from Bay City, Stacey began tumbling at age 4 and Josh as a teen. They met while teaching at the same studio and went on to open their own studio in that area. They've recently relocated to Grayling where they have now lived for 6 years with their children, Riley 8, Gracelyn 7, Caleb 5, Flynn 3, and Paisley 9 months.

Dance is a obviously passion of Gaye’s, with over 40 years of dance experience.  She is the owner of Dance Attitude Studio in Roscommon, where she has taught for 25+ years and currently teaches Social/Ballroom Dance. She is attending Kirtland College to finish a degree in Graphic Art and just received a degree in Fine Arts.  Gaye also continues to train in ballroom dance, and hopes to bring Social/Ballroom Dance to the ADC.  Gaye believes her goal is to not only teach dance, but to help students build self-esteem, self-discipline and a  positive attitude; something every student will carry with them throughout their life. She believes that AuSable Dance, under the direction of Jill Engelhardt, has those same values, and she is very excited to teach youth again.

Kate Troxell
Kate Troxell

Kate Troxell began dancing at Academy for the Performing Arts in Alma Michigan when she was 9 years old, studying ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater until she graduated high school. Kate recently graduated from Alma College with a B.A. in Dance. Kate has a love for teaching and plans to pursue a career in choreography. As well as joining ADC, Kate is also teaching at her home studio,  and is performing with Third Coast Dance Company, a modern dance company based in Mid-Michigan.

Melissa Beckett

Melissa Beckett is delighted to be joining the ADC family!  Her dance training started when she was 4 years old and included ballet, tap, jazz and character dancing.  She began clogging as a freshman at CMU, which led to performing professionally in the show Rhythm Dance in Branson, Missouri.  Melissa has taught at local studios in Cheboygan, Harbor Springs, Onaway and Roscommon.  She is enthusiastically involved with the Grayling High School Players and has done the choreography for their last 5 musicals.  Melissa lives in Grayling with her husband, Chad, and their son, Caleb.

Emily Gotowka

Emily has been dancing since the age of 7. She began her studies in a small studio near her hometown as well as the Dean/Black School for Performing Arts in Midland. She attended Alma College, where she minored in Dance. She has been married to the Deputy of Oscoda County Sherriff’s Department for almost 6 years now, and they have a 2 year old boy and an 8 month old girl. Emily is also works as an EMT for a few different agencies. 

Tya Harrison - Guest Choreographer

Tya Harrison is a native of Atlanta, GA where as a child she danced all over the metro Atlanta area and developed a great love and passion for dance. As a pre teen and teenager she performed for the The Atlanta Workshop Players acting company and also for several years was a memeber of The Atlanta Hawks Junior Dance Team. At a young age dance became a great outlet for her and her energy. After graduating from North Springs High School for the Performing Arts, Tya wanted a higher education in Dance. Tya recived a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Pedagogy from Brenau University's Women College in Gainesville,GA. It was from that point of graduation that she decided she wanted to purse her career further and expand her craft professionally. So for 3 years Tya was a show performer for The Walt Disney World Resort. There she performed many shows and parades across Disney's property like 'The Lion King', 'Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It', and 'Block Party' to name a few. Also during her time in Florida, she was also a member of the Orlando Magic Professional Dance Team before having her first son.
Tya now lives in Lake Ann with her husband Joe and her two boys Jacob and Isaiah. Tya has turned her love for performing and dance into a highly energetic teaching style. She enjoys helping her students explore their creativity and discipline for dance!
